21 Apr Go Daddies!
I met a couple of awesome dad bloggers at the B-Connected Conference in Ottawa. Chris Reid aka Canadian Dad blogs at http://canadiandad.com./ and Mike Reynolds creates Tiny Tales and bedtime stories on his site http://puzzlingposts.com/.
The dads spoke about finding your creative voice. Mike talked about how he challenged himself to write a short story EVERY DAY for a year. He started posting bedtime stories that he made up with his kids on his blog. What began as a fun activity snowballed and teachers started using his stories in their classrooms. For an exercise he suggested writing a story about a random picture to get the creative juices flowing.
Chris talked about how important it is to stand out and THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. He gave shout-outs to Bat Dad: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheOfficialBadDad and Mommy is Weird: http://www.mommysweird.com/ for using their own brand of creativity. He stressed the importance of BEING YOURSELF and doing the thing you LOVE doing.
